Geely Auto has officially announced that cumulative sales of its all-electric compact SUV, the Geely Galaxy E5, have exceeded 230,000 units, highlighting the strong market performance of this rapidly growing EV model. First launched in August 2024, the Galaxy E5 achieved 150,000 units in just 10 months by June 30, 2025, underscoring its popularity in China’s competitive electric SUV segment.
On July 24, Geely unveiled the 2026 Geely Galaxy E5, introducing a refreshed lineup with five variants priced between RMB 109,800 and RMB 145,800. The latest model year brings targeted enhancements across design, interior technology, driving comfort, and electric range, further strengthening its appeal to value-focused EV buyers.
Geely Galaxy E5 Updated Exterior Design and Expanded Color Options
The 2026 Galaxy E5 retains its modern and streamlined SUV profile while introducing two new exterior colors: Forest Green and Dawn Blue. These additions complement the existing palette, which includes White, Black, Pink, Cyan Green, Mist Gray, and Silver, bringing the total to eight body color choices.
In terms of dimensions, the Geely Galaxy E5 measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. This size places it firmly in the compact SUV category while offering generous interior space for daily commuting and family use.
Smart Interior with Flyme Auto System Enhancements
Inside the cabin, the 2026 Galaxy E5 continues to feature a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch floating central touchscreen, powered by Geely’s Flyme Auto infotainment system and the Longying No.1 automotive-grade chipset.
For 2026, the Flyme Auto system receives multiple functional upgrades, including:
-
Green Wave navigation via in-car Amap (Gaode Map)
-
A dedicated Car Wash Mode
-
Expanded Flyme Sound audio zones within QQ Music
-
New steering wheel shortcuts for APA automatic parking assistance
-
Customizable lock/unlock sound alerts
These enhancements significantly improve usability, making everyday driving more intuitive and convenient.
Improved Electric Range and Driving Comfort
Powering the 2026 Galaxy E5 is a 160 kW electric motor, paired with an upgraded battery system. The revised lineup now offers CLTC-rated ranges of 530 km and 610 km, meeting the demands of longer commutes and intercity travel.
The 610 km version receives a notable battery upgrade to 68.22 kWh, an increase of 8 kWh over the previous configuration. This not only extends driving range but also enables an additional 6.5 kWh of external power output, supporting vehicle-to-load (V2L) functions such as camping and emergency power supply.
Geely has also optimized the suspension tuning, improving shock absorption by 20%, resulting in better ride comfort and overall driving refinement.
Geely Galaxy E5 Positioning and Market Outlook
With its competitive pricing, long electric range, and continually evolving smart features, the Geely Galaxy E5 positions itself as a strong contender in the mass-market electric SUV segment. The 2026 updates demonstrate Geely’s commitment to rapid iteration and user-driven improvements, helping the Galaxy E5 maintain momentum in an increasingly crowded EV market.
